Parks & People’s Neighborhood Greening Grants

The Parks & People Foundation, in partnership with the Baltimore Community Foundation and the Cleaner Greener Baltimore Initiative, provides up to $1,000 as Neighborhood Greening Grants for groups interested in conducting projects such as tree plantings, community gardens, vacant lot clean-ups and restoration, neighborhood clean-ups, schoolyard greening, water quality improvement and environmental education activities. Grant funds may also be used for tools, plant material, equipment and other needed supplies.

Join the TreeBaltimore Campaign

Are you interested in healthy trees in your neighborhood? Parks & People Foundation with the support of the Healthy Neighborhoods program and the TreeBaltimore campaign lead by the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks are aiming to increase the tree canopy and create an interconnected green infrastructure between six Healthy Neighborhoods- Reservoir Hill, Coppin Heights, Greater Mondawmin, Remington, Garwyn Oaks, and Cylburn.

Afro Clean-Green Block Awards

Started in 1934, the AFRO Clean Block Competition is the oldest existing environmental program in the nation. 2009 marks its 75th year of continuous operation. It went "Green" and officially partnered with the Cleaner Greener Baltimore Initiative in 2008

Baltimore Green Map is holding a Community Shredding Fundraiser on Saturday, October 10th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Middle School Parking Lot at Friends School of Baltimore, 5114 N. Charles Street.
$5 per box minimum donation. Generosity welcomed!
