A Holiday Recycling Reminder: DPW offers recycling of Christmas paper and eCycling for electronics too!

www.baltimorecity.gov or call 311. Happy Recycling!

The best way to wrap up the holidays is to recycle the wrapping!

Recyclable paper includes wrapping, tissue and colored paper. You can also recycle cardboard packaging and boxes as well as any unwanted holiday cards, gift cards and envelopes. Other paper items that should be recycled are magazines, newspapers, phone books, notebook paper, folders and cereal boxes. We do not recycle ribbons or styrofoam material so please do not include that with your recycling materials.

Remember, unwanted consumer electronics such as DVD players, vcr’s, computers and computer monitors, radios, and speakers are recycled through DPW’s eCycling program. This service is free, and available year-round to citizens who drop them off at one of the five city sanitation yards.

Citizens may drop off items for recycling or eCycling at one of the following sanitation yards: Quarantine Road Sanitary Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Road, Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Road, Western Sanitation Yard, 701 Reedbird Avenue, the Eastern Sanitation Yard, 6101 Bowleys Lane, and the Northwest Sanitation Yard at 2840 Sisson Street. These drop-off locations are open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the Northwest Transfer Station is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Recyclable ONLY items can be dropped off at the York Road Substation, 4325 York Rd., the Calverton Road Substation, 239 N. Calverton Rd. and the Lewin Substation, 4410 Lewin Ave. Those locations are open Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
